Hasan Ismail

Understanding and respecting culture is the key for any designer to be successful, therefore the heritage and history is my inspiration for design. In my design for the hotel in China, I would like to take advantage of the Hunan Provence culture and design that already exists. So my idea is to make the hotel like an artifact gallery where I present this rich and beautiful Hunan art and furniture. To do so, I like to make my walls neutral and clean to let art and furniture is the focal point at the same time I would like to add traditional colors such as red, black and blue to add meaning the design. I believe using bamboo furniture as the main material for the furniture to help present the traditional Chinese way of life. This process will help the guests to experience a traditional Chinese yet modern style of living.
